Students, faculty, and staff should connect to CougarNet, the secure campus wifi network. The steps for setting up wifi differ based on operating system and require installation of a third-party software. Basic instructions are below. Use the links below to access more specific instructions for different types of devices.

  1. Connect your device to the network called “CougarStart.” Do not connect to the CougarNet network yet.
  2. Once connected to CougarStart, open a browser and navigate to caldwell.edu/cougarnet.
  3. Follow the device-specific instructions for downloading the SecureW2 software and connecting to CougarNet.

Campus guests can connect to the CougarGuest wifi network for 24 hours at a time, but access must be approved by a member of the Caldwell University community. To connect to the CougarGuest network, follow the steps below.

  1. Connect your device to the CougarGuest network.
  2. When prompted for a password, enter cuvisitor.
  3. On the screen that follows, enter your name and email address and click "Continue."
  4. Enter the email address of your campus sponsor and click "Request internet access." Your sponsor will receive a request by email that they must approve.
  5. Once your campus sponsor has approved the request, you will have access to the CougarGuest network for 24 hours.
