Yes!

Wall Street Journal:

  • We have access to the Wall Street Journal through the database ProQuest Central.
  • The Wall Street Journal link below takes you directly to the Wall Street Journal page within ProQuest.
  • If you are off-campus, you will have to sign in with your Caldwell NetID and password.
  • Once in the database, you can either use the search bar under "Search Within this Publication" to find articles on a specific topic or you can use the browse option to locate a specific issue.

New York Times:

  • There are two ways to read The New York Times:
    1. We have access to New York Times articles through ProQuest Central. This works similarly to the Wall Street Journal.
    2. Anyone with a Caldwell email address can also obtain unlimited access to nytimes.com by following these steps:
      • Follow the instructions at the New York Times: Site License link below.
      • Once you make an account, you'll be able to log in anytime and have unlimited access.

Other news sources as magazines:

  • You can search for any publication title, like Forbes or The Atlantic, using the Journals tab in Discovery Search on the library homepage. This will bring up a record for any publications that we have access to in a database and provide a link to that database.
  • Do you want to look for articles on a certain topic across publications? You can search for news articles in several databases, and you can often filter by source type to looks for news sources.
  • Newspaper Source Plus is a dedicated news database, drawing from major news outlets in the United States and other countries.
  • Nexis Uni contains local, national, and international news sources.
  • JSTOR features some specific historical news collections, including Independent Voices (a collection of 20th-century alternative press) and American Prison Newspapers.
  • We also have subscriptions to education publications like the Chronicle of Higher Ed and Education Week, which can be found through a Discovery search on the library homepage (or the direct links below).
